The Wandering Blade is an online, AI-run fantasy role-playing game operated by KG Enterprises, a sole proprietorship of Kyle Gilbrech ("we," "us," or "our"), available at thewanderingblade.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information the game handles, why, and the choices you have.
The game is built to collect as little about you as possible. We do not ask for or store your real name, and we never see or store your payment card details. You play through an anonymous account — there's no sign-up form, username, or password.
When you first play, your browser is given a random account token (a string of characters). It identifies your account so your progress, turns, and purchases stay attached to you. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
The text you send to the Game Master and the story it generates are processed to produce the game's responses (see "AI processing" below). We may retain recent story context to keep your adventure coherent.
To keep the service running and prevent abuse, our server temporarily processes technical request data such as your IP address, timestamps, and basic request metadata (for example, to apply rate limits and stop mass account farming). We do not use this to build advertising profiles.
All payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe-hosted checkout pages. Stripe collects the information needed to process your payment (including your email and card details) under Stripe's Privacy Policy. We receive only limited confirmation data — such as your subscription status, a Stripe customer/subscription reference, and the account token the purchase is tied to. We never receive or store your full card number.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not serve third-party advertising in the game.
To deliver the game we rely on a small set of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
The game uses your browser's local storage (not advertising cookies) to keep your account token and your saved game on your device. Clearing your browser storage may remove locally-kept progress; purchased entitlements tied to your account can be recovered when you reconnect.
We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations (for example, keeping records of subscription consent), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).
Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we don't sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
Deleting your data: you can erase your account and its server-side data using the "Delete my data" option in the game (which permanently removes your account's records from our database), or by emailing us at TheWanderingBladeTavern@gmail.com. Deletion is permanent and will end any active entitlements without refund.
The game is intended for players 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18, you may use the game and make purchases only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game, contact us and we will delete the associated data.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The game is operated from the United States and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. By using the game, you understand your information may be processed in the U.S.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version; material changes will be reflected here.
